Position: Supervising General Adjuster
Reports To: Vice President of Property Claims

Overall Purpose and Main Objectives: This position reports directly to the Vice Present of Property Claims and requires performance of a combination of the following duties in accordance with departmental guidelines for Best Practices:
Position Requirements: * Work on highly complex residential and commercial property claims in both the Specialty and Core business lines.
* Management of direct reports; staff large loss specialists, general adjusters and/or approved independent adjusters.
* Management and quality control assurance associated with operations performed by approved expert vendors such as; contractors, engineers, accountants, etc.
* Coordination of third party recovery with subrogation/salvage units.
* Participate in internal audits analyzing claims activities involving staff and independent vendors.
* Communication of observations and recommendations on claim policy and processes to management as appropriate.
* Work closely with in-house and approved legal counsel on matters involving litigation and/or alternative resolution solutions.
Additional Responsibilities: * Keep current on state/territory regulations and issues; industry activity and trends.
* Maintain appropriate licensing as required by state insurance department regulations.
* Responsible for providing guidance and assistance to less experienced claims staff and other functional areas.
* May be responsible for special claims projects and presentations.
* Performs other essential duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Advanced technical and product specific expertise, claims resolution skills and knowledge of insurance and claims principles, practices and procedures.
2. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
3. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
4. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
5. Ability to deal with ambiguous situations and issues.
6. Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business problems.
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other business related software.
Education and Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
2. Professional designation preferred.
3. Minimum of 15 years claims experience.
4. Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
