Position: Senior Business Analyst - CL

Overall Purpose and Main Objectives: This position is accountable for managing, monitoring, and coordinating the implementation of system projects addressing complex business applications. Provides in-depth business expertise and project delivery. Work in an independent and self-directed manner to promote future company system needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Independently prepares, develops and monitors detailed system project plans including time and cost estimates and business justifications throughout the project life cycle.
* Leads project teams and meetings to ensure regular communication and technical expertise is shared with project members in the achievement of system business plans. Appropriately reports on progress to users and senior management.
* Coordinates with end users in the core areas of underwriting, claims and operations to determine requirements for systems development or revision. Maintains close working relationships with users to ensure that their needs are translated into meaningful system changes.
* Writes detailed specifications for new or revised systems to ensure that business requirements are met by internal and/or external resources. Obtains business area sign-off.
* Leads the testing of systems changes and the coordination of the interfaces between major systems and programs. Responsible for test cases, cycle summary, cycle testing detail throughout the testing lifecycle.
* Develops project documentation, forms and training manuals. Conducts training in the business process so that systems changes are understood and utilized. Updates system documentation with all system changes made.
* Troubleshoot all system problems and coordinates resolution with programming staff or software system vendors to ensure that systems changes are appropriate and viable.
Required Knowledge and Experience:  
Entry: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience
* 3 + years' experience in the design and development of complex business systems in the insurance industry
* Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
* Excellent analytical abilities
* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
Fully Qualified: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience
* 4 + years' experience in the design and development of complex business systems in the insurance industry
* Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
* Excellent analytical abilities
* Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Advanced knowledge of workflow analysis and project management methodologies
Physical Requirements: Normal office environment
Some overnight travel required
Some nights and weekends required
