| Overall Purpose and Main Objectives: | This position is accountable for leading predictive modeling, data mining and analysis associated with actuarial services and executive management decision making. |
| Essential Duties & Responsibilities: |
* Develops predictive models to enhance senior management strategic and tactical decision making in respect to profit and growth goals. Models should seek to identify and mathematically represent underlying relationships in the data. * Develop project scope for predictive models designed to identify organizational opportunities with respect to growth and profitability. * Utilizes appropriate software programming tools to produce meaningful statistical reports relevant to ratemaking and reserving practices as well as underwriting and claim benchmarks. * Manage senior modeler and develop objectives, communicate expectations, monitor performance, and provide guidance and training. * Identify and utilize data mining techniques to analyze the needs of our policyholders to more effectively obtain profitable, new business and retain profitable, existing accounts. * Conducts and /or oversees research and special projects as assigned by management. * Represents MiddleOak as an expert in the field of predictive modeling and statistical analysis. |
| Required Knowledge and Experience: |
* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in statistics, actuarial science, mathematics or related field * 5-10 years of data mining and predictive modeling experience * 4 plus years of project management experience * Supervisory experience * Advanced expertise of tools for data mining and statistics (GLM, decision trees, neutral networks) * Strong ability to problem solve * Strong communicate skills oral and written |
