Position Description

Position:	Business Development Specialist (New Jersey and Arizona Regional Territories available)

Overall Purpose and Main Objectives:	This position is accountable for direct written premium development and meeting specific territorial sales objectives for MiddleOak Specialty products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:	* Solicits business and identifies and develops significant relationships with new and existing independent agents for purpose of selling these specialty products. * Implements alternative sales strategies for all specialty products, such as Worlds Apart® and CAPstone accounts controlled by Property Managers, Property Associations, and Property Owners. * Identifies opportunities for new product development and provides innovative solutions based on market conditions and feedback from agents. * Builds and significantly increases wholesale agency/broker distribution infrastructure for Dauntless Specialty Brokerage. * Develops a strong working partnership with the field Production Underwriter responsible for the same territory. * Responsible to develop a minimum of $3,000,000 annually in new Written Premium.
Required Knowledge and Experience:	* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business experience. * Well developed knowledge and application of selling techniques gained from 3 to 5 years of insurance selling experience (preferably commercial property / casualty insurance). * Good understanding of marketing concepts and their development * Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills * Ability to drive and travel extensively (occasionally overnight). * Excellent interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:	Extensive travel required which includes an advanced level of physical vitality to accommodate the amount of time spent driving and/or flying to visit agency offices throughout a broad geographic territory.
